Castell de Palma in Alfauir, Valencia, is an 11th-century hisn (Andalusian palace) that belonged to a network of fortified settlements surrounding Bayrén Castle. The Almohads rehabilitated the fortress in the early 12th century before James I of Aragon captured it around 1238, transferring it to various feudal lords until its final abandonment in the 15th century. The castle features two concentric rectangular fortified enclosures with visible remains of a cistern. Situated at 233 meters elevation east of the town center, it is accessed via the Senda del Castell hiking trail (SL-CV 138), offering spectacular panoramic views and one of the most scenic routes through the Safor region despite the castle's ruined condition.
