Castillo de Mayoralgo, also known as Castillo de Garabato, is a 13th-century rock fortress in Aldea del Cano, Cáceres province, built by the Blázquez family during the Reconquista. Uniquely constructed partially on granite boulders, the castle employs stone masonry reinforced with granite ashlar in doors, windows, and corners, while its imposing Tower of Homage was added during the first quarter of the 14th century. Today privately owned and appearing on the Red List of Endangered Heritage, this granite-laden stronghold remains an important but threatened example of medieval military architecture in Extremadura.
