Castle of Flers is a 17th-century Flemish estate completed in 1661 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq near Lille. This typical example of rural Flemish architecture underwent major renovations in the 18th century and was later converted into a farm before facing demolition in 1969. Saved and restored between 1986 and 1991, the castle was classified as a historical monument in 1951. Today it houses the archaeological museum of Villeneuve-d'Ascq in its basement, showcasing local collections in archaeology, history, and ethnography, with the ground floor hosting the local tourist office. Entry is free for visitors.
