Château de Saint-Victour in Saint-Victor, France, has a documented history tracing back to 1326 when the seigneury belonged to the d'Anglars family. By 1532, the castle was owned by Antoine d'Anglards, lord of both Saint Victour and Margerides. The property subsequently passed to Abbé Gabriel de Fénis in 1726 for his nephew Jean-Martial, a friend of the Marquis de Lafayette. Through strategic marriage alliances, the castle transferred to Antoine de Chazettes de Bargues, a National Guard colonel at Ussel during the Restoration period, and by 1921 became connected through marriage to the de Sambucy de Sorgue family.
