Château De La Chasse stands in the heart of the Montmorency Forest in Saint-Prix, Val-d'Oise, designated as a French Historic Monument. Built in the 12th century by the Lord of Montmorency, this feudal fortress grew in prominence as a royal hunting lodge under François I before becoming property of Louis Bonaparte. The double line of moats that once made it impregnable remains visible today. After abandonment in the early 20th century, the château underwent substantial restoration in the 1970s and is now managed by the National Forestry Office. Listed as a historic monument since 1933, it represents significant medieval and Renaissance military architecture.
