Château d'Usson, also known as Château des Égreteaux, sits southeast of Pons in Charente-Maritime, constructed between 1536 and 1548 by Renaissance master Nicolas Bachelier and his assistant. The original U-shaped structure was damaged during religious conflicts and later reconstructed in 1890 on a nearby rural site. Now operating as Château des Énigmes since 1999, it functions as an evolving leisure park featuring themed attractions including elves, knights, musketeers, and pirates that rotate every four years.
