Château de Mercuès, a 13th-century medieval fortress perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Lot valley, served as a stronghold protecting Cahors and residence for counts-bishops over seven centuries. Damaged during the Hundred Years War and Wars of Religion, it was meticulously restored beginning in 1983 by winemaker Georges Vigouroux. The 35-hectare estate now operates as a Relais & Châteaux hotel and vineyard, producing renowned Malbec wines and featuring 24 rooms, suites, and a Michelin-starred restaurant showcasing local products in the historic bishops' dining room.

Château de Cavagnac is a 12th-century castle in the heart of Lot, originating from walls raised by the Robert family near an ancient Roman villa. From the 16th and 17th centuries, it was elevated to a barony and remodeled into an imposing residential estate, reflecting its noble heritage. Today classified as a historic monument, the castle retains its western wing with guest rooms and offers a table d'hôtes featuring local products. The property stands in one of Lot's most beautiful villages, near remarkable attractions including Collonges la Rouge, Rocamadour, and the Padirac caves.

Château de Montcléra is a 15th-century fortress located in the heart of the Lot region in Occitanie, dating from 1334 when the Duke of Normandy granted the lordship to Arnaud de Commarque. Originally built on the site of a 14th-century structure, the château evolved through the Renaissance period and was elevated to marquisate status under Louis XIII's reign. The impressive fortress features defensive towers and architectural elements spanning the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries, reflecting its significance as a former seat of nobility. Although the castle remains visible from the roadside and continues to represent an important historical landmark in the region, it remains private property not open to public visitation.

Château de Cénevières, perched in the Lot Valley between Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Cajarc, reveals a remarkable architectural journey spanning medieval to 18th-century periods across ten elegantly furnished rooms. The castle traces its roots to a medieval fortress under Pépin Le Bref, fortified during the Hundred Years' War by the Gourdon family. Renaissance influences arrived around 1550 through Antoine de Gourdon, bringing Italian architectural refinement from the Italian wars of François I. A rare highlight includes an exceptional alchemy cabinet adorned with paintings inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses. Château des Doyens in Carennac, one of France's most beautiful villages in the Lot département, is a masterwork of 16th-century Renaissance architecture built entirely in freestone. Constructed by Dean Alain de Ferrières between 1529 and 1554, the château later underwent decoration of its great hall ceiling under François Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon, the 17th-century bishop of Sarlat and dean of Carennac. The estate features notable painted ceilings, period fireplaces, and murals reflecting Renaissance influence, with facades, roofs, fortified door and tower having been classified as historical monuments since 1938. Today it serves as a heritage center interpreting the art and history of the Lot Dordogne Valley.

Château de Béduer is a 13th-century feudal castle commanding a hilltop overlooking the Célé valley in the Lot département, featuring architectural evolution from the 13th through 17th centuries across Romanesque and later additions.
