Built in 1482 at the request of Anne de Beaujeu, the Castle-Museum of Gien dominates the Loire River landscape and town of Gien. Transformed into a Renaissance building by its royal patron, it hosted a Museum of Shooting and Falconry beginning in 1952. The castle underwent comprehensive restoration from 2011 and reopened in 2017 with modern museography showcasing collections on flying, hounds, and historic hunting techniques. Certified as a Museum of France, it offers guided tours exploring the region's hunting heritage and the castle's Renaissance architecture.
