Château d'Harcourt is a former 12th-century fortress in Harcourt, Eure, Normandy, whose origins trace to the powerful House of Harcourt and the early settlement of Normandy in 911. The castle's distinctive stone keep was constructed in the 12th century, with an enclosure wall featuring twelve towers and surrounded by double moats erected in the 13th century. The property houses one of France's oldest arboretums, established in 1802 by Louis Gervais Delamarre. Partly ringed by its original fortification walls and double ditches, the castle has been designated a historical monument. Open daily with admission fees, the site offers visitors an opportunity to explore intact medieval defensive architecture alongside one of the nation's pioneering collections of trees.
