Domaine de Courson showcases a 17th-century château built by the Lamoignon family and positioned as a monument historique just 35 kilometers from Paris in Essonne. The estate encompasses 40 hectares of gardens awarded the Remarkable Garden Label, featuring winding pathways around a central pond, diverse plantings of camellias, magnolias, lilacs, azaleas, hydrangeas, roses, and specimen trees including oaks, beeches and maples. Designed in 1820 by landscape architect Berthault—who worked for Empress Josephine at Malmaison—the grounds blend formal French garden traditions with 19th-century romantic landscaping, welcoming visitors seasonally from April through November.
