Château de La Motte-Tilly in Aube sits on the Seine's left bank, seven kilometers southwest of Nogent-sur-Seine. Built from 1754 according to architect François-Nicolas Lancret's designs, this elegant brick and sandstone residence was commissioned by the Terray brothers. The château anchors a 60-hectare park certified as a remarkable garden, featuring formal and English-style layouts with a decorative water mirror. The estate has been managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux since opening to the public in 1978.
