Château de Craon is an 18th-century jewel located in the town of Craon, on the borders of Mayenne, Brittany, and Maine. Specialists nickname it 'Small Versailles' due to its architectural inspiration from Marie-Antoinette's Trianon, and original furniture from that era remains preserved in its salons. Built of white Loire stone with Louis XVI décor and refined wood panelling, the castle dominates its hilltop setting overlooking the town. The 47-hectare estate encompasses a classical French garden and a 42-hectare English-style park with ancient trees. The grand hall, staircase, dining room, oval room, and music room are available for guided tours during summer months. Today, the castle remains a family residence welcoming guests for accommodations and events.
