Château de Chantilly, located 50 kilometers north of Paris, comprises the Petit Château built around 1560 for Anne de Montmorency and the Grand Château rebuilt in the 1870s after Revolution destruction. One of France's few furnished castles, it houses the exceptional Condé Museum with the largest Renaissance painting collection outside the Louvre—1,000 paintings, 2,500 drawings, and 2,500 engravings. The 115-hectare estate features magnificent gardens in French, Anglo-Chinese, and English styles, plus the Living Museum of the Horse showcasing 200 artworks dedicated to equestrian heritage.
