Château de La Rochepot stands as a masterpiece of neo-Gothic Burgundian architecture in Côte-d'Or, built upon the ruins of an 11th-century fortress. Acquired in 1403 by Régnier Pot, chamberlain of Philip the Bold, the château was transformed into a fortified residence. During the French Revolution, it was dismantled and used as a stone quarry. In 1893, following purchase by the family of Cécile Sadi Carnot, wife of the French President, a colossal restoration lasting over twenty-five years restored the château to its 15th-century appearance under architect Charles Suisse. The result is celebrated for its distinctive roofs with multicolored glazed tiles.
