Château Beauval is an 18th-century estate situated in a 16-hectare park in Bassens, with origins tracing back to construction in the 15th century by the son of Jean de Beauval. The château underwent significant reconstruction starting in 1725 under the de Conilhy family and was remodeled in 1861 by shipowner Hubert Prom, who added a 23-meter-high Bollée wind turbine for water pumping and storage. The expansive domain includes numerous outbuildings such as a chapel, farm buildings, wash house, greenhouse, and wine storehouse. Municipally owned since 1991, the estate is set to become the cultural center of Bassens, with guided tours regularly organized through its picturesque parkland featuring diverse plant species and scenic pathways.
