Thyborøn Fortress comprises a remarkable German World War II coastal defense complex built along Jutland's coast to prevent Allied invasion. Originally containing 66 large and 40 small bunkers, the Atlantic Wall fortification featured ingenious camouflage design with bunkers disguised as ordinary buildings complete with roof tiles, chimneys, and painted windows. Located in the fishing village of Thyborøn in Lemvig Municipality, the preserved bunker complex remains visible along the coastline. One bunker at the nearby Coastal Center functions as a museum dedicated to spy history. The site offers visitors a powerful blend of preserved World War II military architecture and dramatic North Sea coastal landscape.
