Fussingø is a historic castle estate near Randers that began construction around 1555 under Albert Skeel, though the present buildings were erected in 1795 by Count Christian Ludvig Scheel von Plessen after the original structure was relocated. Now owned by the Danish state, the castle opens to the public during exhibitions and special arrangements, with group tours available by appointment. The surrounding Fussingø Nature National Park is freely accessible, offering excellent opportunities for walking among forested trails, enjoying views from Thomasbakke hill, and visiting the historic Fussing watermill and public bathing facilities by the lake.
