Hesbjerg Slot stands as a striking example of late 19th-century Dutch Renaissance architecture in Odense, Denmark. Constructed in 1880–1881 by bookseller H.C.A. Milo using designs by architect Emil Schwanenflügel, the castle features red brick construction with a distinctive copper-roofed tower. Originally surrounded by extensive park and garden areas adjacent to Hesbjerg Forest, the estate later became significant in the 20th century when theologian Jørgen Laursen Vig established a folk high school and founded the Hesbjerg Peace Research College in 1964. This institution continues its mission of peace research today, making the castle an important cultural and intellectual landmark beyond its architectural splendor.
