Fortress Storgosia, located within Kaylaka Park near Pleven in north-central Bulgaria, preserves the remains of a Roman road station and fortified settlement spanning from the 1st to 6th centuries. Originally established on the Oescus-Philippopolis trade route, the fortress expanded defensively in the 4th century to cover 31,000 square meters and featured walls 2.20 meters thick, two gates, and three towers. Archaeological excavations have revealed a 4th-century basilica, residential structures, and a public granary, reflecting its dual role as a military garrison and civilian administrative center under Roman governance.
