Kasteel van Sterrebeek is a neoclassical castle built in 1761 by banker Jean-Antoine Ories in the municipality of Zaventem. The estate underwent a significant neoclassical renovation in 1908 under Maurice Despret, a prominent Belgian financier and senator described as a banking genius. The castle features elegant proportions with various pavilions, sculptures, and outbuildings scattered throughout its protected landscape park, which was formally designated as a protected heritage landscape in 1958. The entire castle domain, including its gatehouse, remains protected as a monument, preserving its architectural and historical significance.
