Castle of Reinhardstein in Waimes stands majestically on a rocky outcrop above the Warche stream valley, with its founding dating to 1354 when Wenceslas, Duke of Luxembourg, granted permission for its construction. The castle's ownership transferred through several noble families including the Van Nassau and De Metternich clans, but faced destruction in 1677 during the reign of Ludwig XIV. Following decades of decline as a quarry, the castle underwent meticulous stone-by-stone restoration beginning in 1970 and now showcases considerable collections of furniture, weapons, and tapestries. Guided tours lasting approximately 1 hour 15 minutes are available in French, Dutch, and German, while the adjacent Reinhardstein cascade provides a striking natural complement to the visit.
