CASTLES PLOMBIÈRES

Château de Streversdorp (Château de Graaf) is a medieval fortress in Montzen, dating to the 13th century and named after its original 13th-century owner Egidius de Triversdorp. The castle's thick 1.5-meter walls are protected by extensive moats fed by two ponds, with a three-arched stone bridge and entrance gate topped by a 17th-century oval decorative element. The central keep contains a notable vaulted chamber. Protected as a classified heritage site since 1954, the castle remains privately held and is not open to the public, preserving its historic character for centuries.

Château de Beusdael is a medieval fortress located in Sippenaeken, part of the Plombières municipality in Belgium's Walloon Region, near the German and Dutch borders. The castle features an L-shaped architectural design with two residential wings, a square corner tower, and an imposing 13th-century keep measuring 28 meters high with walls up to 2.5 meters thick at the base. First mentioned in the 13th century as a lordship seat, the castle changed hands through the Van Eys and Colyn families before being acquired in 1951 by a Catholic school colonies association. The fortress has been officially protected as a monument since 1976, preserving its significant architectural heritage.
