Arenberg Castle is a Flemish Renaissance château built in the 16th-17th centuries near Leuven, rising from the site of a 12th-century medieval fortress demolished and replaced by Antoon van Croÿ starting in 1455. The construction continued under Willem van Croÿ, achieving completion by 1515, and the castle transferred to the Arenberg family in 1612, who occupied it prominently for three centuries. Following extensive 19th-century renovation and the First World War, Duke of Arenberg donated the domain to the university. Today Arenberg Castle serves as home to the Faculty of Engineering at KU Leuven University. Guided tours are available to the public, showcasing the castle's limited but historically significant interior spaces and beautifully preserved grounds.
