Herzele Castle is a 13th–14th century fortress in the center of Herzele, Belgium, representing one of the few surviving castle sites in the province. The complex features a circular residential tower, gatehouse, keep, chapel, and great hall surrounded by a moat with reinforced corner towers. Severely damaged during the 1380 Ghent Uprising and again bombarded in 1579, the castle underwent comprehensive restoration from 1972 to 1977. Protected as a monument since 1957, it now welcomes visitors through guided tours and hosts various events throughout the year, serving as a tangible connection to the region's feudal heritage.
