Kasteel Van Acker in Destelbergen is a neo-Louis XVI style castle designed by architect Jozef De Bosscher and built in 1913, now serving as the municipal seat and town museum. The castle overlooks a five-hectare public park laid out in English landscape style around 1843, featuring an irregular pond, greenhouses, and mature specimens of beech, oak, and hornbeam trees. The surrounding Reinaert Park takes its name from the medieval epic 'Van den vos Reynaerde,' with local tradition associating certain story events to Destelbergen's landscape. A walking route connects the castle, park, and dam valley, offering visitors a scenic tour through heritage sites and natural surroundings.
