Kasteel van Leefdaal, also known as de Liedekerke, is a Renaissance castle in Bertem with late medieval foundations. Its history traces to the 12th-century lordship of Leven Dale, which eventually passed to the House of Merode and later the De Brouchoven family before the De Liedekerke family acquired it in 1775. The castle occupies a beautifully wooded setting featuring ponds, a water mill, and remnants of medieval fortifications including tower remains and a former moat with drawbridge. The count's family undertook careful restorations of the facades in the 20th century, preserving its architectural character.
