CASTLES BEERSEL

Kasteel van Beersel is one of Flanders' greatest medieval castles, built around 1300 by the Hinnin family under Godfried van Hellebeke to protect Brussels from potential invasions. Standing in the Flemish Brabant region, this iconic fortress features three massive round towers and is constructed of red brick distinctive to Flemish military architecture. The castle's original defensive design includes a substantial moat, drawbridge, and high walls—elements enhanced in the 15th century to adapt to advancing siege warfare techniques. Following major restoration work in 1928–1939, Kasteel van Beersel became one of Belgium's best-preserved castles and now welcomes the public to experience its medieval legacy.

Kasteel van Huizingen is an elegant provincial domain in Beersel offering a refined venue for events, weddings, and fine dining. The estate features multiple banquet halls, a restaurant serving bistronomy and gastronomy, and contemporary meeting spaces equipped with projection technology.
