Kreisbach Castle in Traisental dates back to its foundation by Dietericus I de Crewspach at the end of the 12th century, marking over eight centuries of continuous history. After multiple ownership changes throughout the medieval and early modern periods, the castle passed to Lilienfeld Abbey in 1625, establishing a spiritual dimension that continues today. Since 1999, the Kreisbach Castle Cultural Association has led revitalization efforts, concluding a 99-year building rights contract with the abbey. The Anna Chapel hosts sacred services and devotions, while the castle itself serves as a distinctive venue for weddings, concerts, readings, and celebrations. The castle park, LacHort, offers a serene setting for visitors to relax and appreciate this unique historical landmark.
