Burg Landskron is a medieval hill castle located northeast of Villach in Carinthia, perched at 658 metres above sea level on a rock cone of the Ossiach Tauern range overlooking the Ossiacher See. Though documented settlement dates to around 800 BCE, the castle's formal construction began around 1028. After centuries of strategic military importance, including grants by Emperor Maximilian I and ownership by the noble Khevenhüller family, the castle now serves as a multifaceted cultural destination.
