Burg Seebenstein is a hilltop castle in Lower Austria standing 453 meters above sea level, featuring a distinctive dual-structure design. The older section contains a 23-meter-high round keep constructed around 1380 with an adjoining chapel, while the 'high castle' was built between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries. Approximately forty castle rooms display extensive collections of weapons, marble sculptures, artwork, and precious tapestries. The castle has been owned by the Nehammer family since 1942 and welcomes visitors to explore its historical rooms serving as a museum. Notably, it once housed the Seebenstein Madonna, a significant wood sculpture by renowned artist Tilman Riemenschneider.
