Schloss Marbach in Ried in der Riedmark represents nearly nine centuries of Upper Austrian history. First documented in 1145, the castle was significantly damaged during Hussite raids in 1424, then rebuilt as a water fortress by the Rohrbach family starting in 1484. The most substantial transformation occurred between 1706 and 1710 when St. Florian monastery, its owner for 250 years, undertook major renovations. Today, the castle complex, chapel, and associated farm buildings stand as protected monuments, reflecting medieval and Baroque architectural heritage.
