Sisi-Schloss Rudolfsvilla is a castle-like villa in Reichenau an der Rax in Lower Austria, built in 1856-1857 according to plans by architect Anton Hefft. From 1859 to 1864, the villa served as a summer residence for Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth (Sisi), who used it as a base for hunting expeditions in the surrounding Rax region. The villa also functioned as the summer residence of Crown Prince Rudolf and Archduchess Gisela, establishing it as an important imperial family retreat. Notably, the loggia hosted the wedding of Theodor Herzl in 1889. Today, protected as a historical monument, the Rudolfsvilla preserves its original appearance and offers six fully renovated vacation apartments, allowing visitors to experience the elegance and historical significance of this former imperial summer retreat while maintaining its authentic period character.
