Burg Krumau is a medieval fortress perched on a rocky outcrop above the Kamp River in Krumau am Kamp, Lower Austria. First documented in 1172 and originally erected around 1160 by Duke Henry II Jasomirgott, the castle became a strategic center for the Babenberg family's holdings in the Waldviertel region. The structure remains a striking example of medieval architecture, with notable preserved features including robust stone walls and period stonework. Since 1976, the castle has been privately owned and carefully restored, maintaining its historical character while serving as a residential property. Though private residence access is limited, visitors can enjoy views of the exterior and, when open, explore the lower castle courtyard.
