Wasserhof Castle in Gneixendorf, near Krems an der Donau, is a historic residence with significant cultural connections dating to the 19th century. The castle's earliest mention appears in 1141, when it was bequeathed to Baumgartenberg Abbey. It gained notable distinction as the property of Nikolaus Johann van Beethoven, brother of composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who purchased the estate in 1819.
