Schloss Sachsengang is an early medieval fortification nestled at the northern edge of the Danube wetlands in Groß-Enzersdorf, Lower Austria. Originally gifted to the Bavarian monastery Weihenstephan by Emperor Heinrich II in 1021, the castle was the original nucleus of the municipality and held by the Sachsengang family from the 12th century until 1412. Situated on a medieval hill within a former Danube meander, it once formed a defensive complex with nearby Oberhausen Castle and today stands as a protected historical monument.
