Burgruine Stauf is a hilltop castle ruin in Haibach ob der Donau, Upper Austria, dating to the 12th century. Established as a family seat and administrative center by nobleman Wernhard de Stove, it remained an important stronghold until it was eclipsed by the Liechtensteins' newer Schloss Aschach an der Donau. Today, the well-preserved ruins feature a still-climbable tower offering exceptional panoramic views across the region. Open daily with extended summer hours, the site attracts hikers and sightseers keen to explore the remaining keep, outer ward, main buildings, and historic well nestled in the inner courtyard.
