Burgruine Gomarn stands on a wooded hill near Bad Sankt Leonhard in Carinthia, its origins likely dating to the 11th or 12th century, with first documented mention in 1287. The ruins preserve remnants spanning the 12th to 15th centuries, including a distinctive square-walled bergfried and a strong outer wall added in the 15th century to the four-story main building facing northeast. Originally a small fortress, the complex expanded into a spacious palace during the Middle Ages. The freely accessible ruins remain protected as a historic monument and host regular events and exhibitions.
