Atzenbrugg Castle is located approximately 40 kilometers west of Vienna on the edge of the Tullnerfeld, near the river Perschling in Lower Austria's Tulln district. A noble family bearing the name Atzenbrugger owned the property in the 13th century, and by the 14th century it passed to Klosterneuburg monastery, retaining a 16th-century vaulted ceiling as a notable architectural feature. The castle gained widespread recognition as the summer residence of composer Franz Schubert from 1820 until his death in 1828, when he stayed there annually as a guest of his friend Franz von Schober. Today, the castle houses an interactive museum spanning 600 square meters dedicated to Schubert's life and work, while regular concerts and recitals fill its historic halls with music, and the castle, park, and chapel serve as an elegant venue for private celebrations and events.
