Puchheim Castle, located in Attnang-Puchheim in Upper Austria, represents a significant Baroque fortress with deep historical roots spanning eight centuries. Originally built around the 12th century, the castle was completely destroyed by fire in 1585 and subsequently rebuilt by the Pollheim family in its present elegant form. Throughout its history, it passed through numerous noble families including counts and even Archduke Maximilian d'Este, grandson of Empress Maria Theresa. Today the castle serves multiple cultural purposes, housing the regional music school, gallery exhibitions, and the Redemptorist monastery alongside the Maria Puchheim Basilica.
