Wolfsberg Castle, also known as the Henckel-Donnersmarck Castle, dominates the north of the town of Wolfsberg in Carinthia. Originally established as a bishopric residence in 1178, the castle was converted in the 16th century into a fortress to defend against Turkish advances. In 1847–1853, industrialist Hugo Henckel von Donnersmarck commissioned Viennese architects to transform it into a magnificent neo-Gothic Tudor-style palace. Today the castle operates as an event venue hosting weddings, seminars, and celebrations, with a restaurant and café, while guided tours are available by appointment during exhibitions.
