Weobley Castle

Weobley Castle is a 14th-century fortified manor house located on the Gower Peninsula in Swansea, Wales, under the care of Cadw. Built between 1304 and 1327 by the de la Bere family on an outcrop of white carboniferous limestone, this grand residence primarily served as a family home rather than a military stronghold. The castle commands striking views over the extensive mudflats of the Loughor estuary. Despite a brief capture during Owain Glyndwr's 15th-century rebellion, the house remained occupied until the early 20th century. Today, visitors encounter this historic structure within working farmland and should be mindful of farm operations.
