Wemyss Castle

Wemyss Castle in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, is renowned for its exceptional spring woodland gardens spanning 15 acres, featuring a magnificent display of Erythronium revolutum and bluebells carpeting the woodland floor. The castle's gardens have been substantially redesigned since 1994, with a six-acre walled garden now showcasing clematis, roses and ornamental trees. The historic grounds include a serpentine pond and specimen plantings alongside Victorian features such as the original 300-foot herbaceous border and conservatory noted in 19th-century accounts. The gardens are open by appointment only from April to July, offering visitors a glimpse of Scottish country house horticulture.
