Vendeuvre

Château de Vendeuvre is an 18th-century Norman estate in Calvados combining a meticulously restored château with remarkable museum collections and extensive formal gardens spanning over 14 hectares. The property preserves original furnishings and decorative elements from the 1700s, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into aristocratic life during this period. It houses the world's first collection of miniature furniture spanning from the 15th century to present day, complemented by displays of ornate pet furniture and period kitchens. The grounds feature intricate water gardens with surprising fountains, topiary sections, grottos, exotic plantings, and mazes. Open April through October for individual visitors, school groups, and organized tours, the estate offers a leisurely afternoon of exploration through both interior spaces and its carefully designed landscape.
