Trujillo Alcazaba is a Moorish fortress perched atop a granite hill in Trujillo, Extremadura, dating primarily to the 9th and 10th centuries. This impressive stone structure features eight towers and preserves the distinctive square towers characteristic of Islamic military architecture. Built over an Arab citadel, it was subsequently reformed during Christian rule, notably with walls reinforced in the 14th century and a fortified barrier added in the 15th century. The castle offers expansive panoramic views of dusty plains dotted with smaller castle ruins and ancient walls, providing insight into the region's medieval defensive landscape.
