Torreón de Miramontes stands as a striking fortress built on a rocky outcrop in Azuaga, Badajoz, with origins tracing to the Islamic period atop Roman foundations. Originally a magnificent military stronghold featuring a keep, defensive towers, and surrounding walls, it later served as the Casa de la Encomienda for the Order of Santiago before falling into ruin. Though substantially preserved in the 15th century, today only fragments remain visible—two towers, arrow slits, portions of walls, and foundation traces—offering glimpses of its once formidable structure.
