Torrebuceit

Castillo de Torrebuceit is an ancient fortress of Islamic origin located in Torrejoncillo del Rey, Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain, situated in the Záncara River valley. The castle, built or substantially reconstructed during the 14th and 15th centuries, was strategically positioned along the road connecting Zafra de Záncara and Huerta de la Obispalía. The fortress gained historical significance as the refuge of Zeit Abu Zeit, a Valencian king and vassal of Ferdinand III of Castile who adopted the Christian name Vicente Belvís. Over centuries, the structure has been transformed into a farmhouse and private residence, adapting to changing needs while preserving its essential architectural character. Today it stands as a testament to the region's complex medieval history spanning Islamic and Christian periods.
