Torre del Monje stands in the abandoned hamlet of El Congosto near the Záncara River in Villares del Saz, Cuenca province. Originally named Torre de Zafra, this fortification was part of riverine defenses before being donated to the Monastery of Santa María de Huerta and renamed for its monastic association. Built with irregular rubble stone and quality ashlar corners, the tower features an elongated arched window at mid-height and smaller square openings near its top. The structure represents a remnant of medieval border fortifications, though it currently stands in progressive ruin as an abandoned archaeological site.
