Torre del Homenaje de Monforte de Lemos is a 30-metre-tall medieval tower built between the 13th and 15th centuries, standing as the last remaining vestige of the powerful castle of San Vicente originally built in the 12th century. This imposing structure features walls up to three metres thick and occupies the highest point of Monforte, offering panoramic views across the city. The tower's name derives from the Ceremonies of Homage celebrated within its walls, binding lords and vassals. Today it houses a museum exhibiting the tower's history and the kingdoms that inhabited this region, showcasing paintings and period artifacts that illustrate its significance.
