Torre del Comte de Fígols

Torre del Comte de Fígols is a distinctive neomedieval mansion in the Berguedà region built in the early 20th century as a temporary residence for José Enrique de Olano y Loyzaga, a Basque mining entrepreneur. Constructed around 1893-1911 in connection with Olano's mining operations in Alt Berguedà, the tower exemplifies the industrial prosperity of the era through its romantic castle-like design. Though abandoned since the 1980s and in deteriorating condition, the structure has been converted into an open-air urban art gallery. Protected as a Local Cultural Heritage Good within Catalonia's Architectural Heritage Inventory, it stands as a testament to early 20th-century industrial ambition and regional economic development.
