Torre Del Aver

Torre del Aver is a 12th-century Almohade albarran tower located on Postigo Street in Cáceres' historic center, forming part of the city's integrated defensive system. Distinguished by its square floor plan and Roman ashlars visible at the base, this protruding tower design allowed defenders to quickly destroy the connecting spur during sieges, isolating the structure from the main wall. The tower represents military architecture from Cáceres' Moorish era and remains visible within the walled enclosure, contributing to the medieval character of one of Spain's most complete preserved old town complexes.
